Adult education

Illiteracy is a barrier to information sharing, participation and well-being. When parents are limited by their own lack of education, they are unable to provide stimulating environment, that the stage for the healthy social and emotional development of their children. This program aims to reduce the illiteracy rate in our activity areas and to train various categories of developers on educational methodologies.

Assisted by personnel from the National Authority for Adult Education, the association implemented programs, mainly for women and youth

The EACD has adopted the « Learn and Be Free » program in partnership with local associations. This program deals with day-to-day women’s interests and emphasizes educational skills (phonetic teaching methods, activation of sight, hearing senses and emotional and social aspects). The sessions start with social dialogue and lead to reading and writing skills training. After 12 months of training, applicants learn how to read and write, as well as basic calculation principles.

Our training program « Official Papers in our Life » teaches residents how to deal with formal documents such as cheques exchange bills, telegrams, utility bills and legal forms. Many Egyptians don't even have personal official documents. The Association also assists beneficiaries in obtaining those crucial papers.
