Early Childhood Development - Kindergartens

The first years of life are vital to a child's healthy development. It is a time of rapid brain growth, socialization, language acquisition and of mastering numbers. The objective  of EACD is to achieve a better quality of education for young children and to strengthen the awareness of parties involved in children's early development – families, supervisors and the local community as a whole. The EACD operates its own Kindergartens (KG), reaching children from ages 1 to 5 ½ years old. This initiative has become a huge success. The EACD installed its first KG in El Marg ten years ago, and ever since it has risen in popularity. The purpose of EACD is now to cope with a growing demand.

The association prepares a program of activities – daily, weekly, monthly and annually – based on several methodologies that take into consideration both structural and individual capacities of children. The EACD also works hard to involve the families this education program.

The association also organize training sessions on new educational methodologies (for supervisors/animators, young girls and boys wishing to work with children, local CDAs in charge or wishing to take charge of KG management,…).The training sessions abord how to establish a KG and equip the place, supervisory roles with children and families, activities that develop children’s capacities according to their stages of development, how to address the needs of handicapped children, technical support and problem solving, creation of low-cost games etc.

To facilitate our training program, we have edited a training manual, comprising all the basic elements for setting up and managing a KG at the administrative, financial and pedagogical level.
